What's in Settings

Settings is where you check on the status of things and adjust a few account-level details. It is not where the day-to-day work happens — for anything you want done (a new payment link, a website change, a marketing email), just ask in chat.

The panels

Open the Apps grid or the account menu. About, FAQ, and the written guides live in the account menu — not in this list. Depending on what's installed for your business, you'll see some or all of:

  • Billing — your subscription status, trial days remaining, when your current period ends, and a link to manage payment details.
  • Payments — the status of your payments account (are you fully set up to accept money yet?), a running total for the month, and — once you're live — a link out to Stripe where you can manage your own products and prices.
  • Customers — once customer sign-in is on for your business and it offers customers something to sign in to: who can sign in, an invite form, and controls to switch someone's access off.
  • Email Marketing — the address your marketing emails send from.
  • Inbox — your business's built-in email address, plus your recent customer messages and a place to reply to them.
  • Business Settings — your business name and social media links. The Apps list also has Business Identity just below this — that's your living profile, not a settings panel. See "Your Business Identity profile".
  • Notifications — how often I email you an evening summary: Every day or Never. Turning the daily summary off covers what that changes and what it doesn't. There's also a switch for whether replying to one of my emails reaches me directly — it can't be turned on yet, so a reply reaches the ZenBusiness support team instead.
  • Site — your website's status, its web address, and the versions you've published.
  • Domain — your own web address for your site: the DNS records to add at your domain provider and their status, once connecting is available in your account. Where it's available, you can also buy one here.
  • Connections — every outside account I'm connected to on your business's behalf — like your Meta ad account or LinkedIn profile — what each is used for, and a Disconnect button next to each. A connection type not available in your account yet shows up disabled rather than being left off.
  • App settings — everything you currently have, with a Remove button next to each one, plus a Removed section you can bring an app back from.
  • Appearance — Light, Dark, or System (match your device). Your choice also applies to the help center, so the guides look the same as the rest of the app.
  • Any app you've had built for you may add its own settings panel here too.

User Settings lives in the account menu, not in your business settings.

What Settings is for — and isn't for

Most of these panels are read-mostly: a place to look something up rather than get work done. Payments shows whether your account can accept money yet and a button to finish that setup if not — but there's no button there to create a payment link. Its one exception is the link out to Stripe: that's Stripe's own website, not a screen here, and it's where you can manage your products and prices yourself. Email Marketing shows the address your campaigns send from, but there's no list of your contacts or audiences there. Four panels ARE places to act: Inbox, where you can read and reply to customer messages; App settings, where you can remove an app you no longer need — or bring one back; Notifications, where you can change how often the evening summary arrives, or turn it off; and Connections, where you can disconnect an outside account you no longer want me using. When you have Customers, it's a fifth: inviting someone and switching their access off happen only there — your decisions, not mine to make in chat.

If you don't see a way to do something in Settings, that's usually because it isn't a self-service task — ask your co-founder in chat instead. For example:

  • "Can you make me a payment link for $200?" — handled in chat, not in Settings → Payments.
  • "Who's on my email list?" — ask in chat; there's no audience list in Settings.
  • "Change my homepage photo" — ask in chat; there's no website editor in Settings.

Renaming your business

Your business's name lives in Settings → Business Settings. Change it there, or just ask your co-founder to do it in chat.

A note on Payments and onboarding

The one thing Settings → Payments genuinely lets you do yourself is finish onboarding — verifying your identity and adding where payouts should go, if that isn't done yet. See "Setting up payments vs. sending a payment link" for everything else that panel shows you.
