What your co-founder can't do yet

There is a fair amount your co-founder can't do yet, and it's better to know it up front than to discover it halfway through a conversation. Ask for any of these and you'll be told straight — you won't get a guess dressed up as an answer.

Not available today

  • Forming your business entity, or handling compliance filings. Your co-founder can help you shape the business, but it can't file formation paperwork or manage ongoing state filings for you.
  • Running paid advertising. Your co-founder can help you get found through search and content, and can email your own contact list, but it can't buy or manage ads for you.
  • Receiving files attached to email. A customer's message reaches your Inbox, but anything they attached — or an image they pasted into the body — doesn't come with it. See your business email address and inbox.

All three are on the list to be built.

Newly possible, and arriving in stages

One thing that used to be on the list above has moved off it, and it is worth being precise about what has changed and what hasn't.

  • Apps your own customers sign in to. This used to be a flat no — the custom software was for you to run the business, and a customer-facing app with its own logins wasn't in scope. It is now something you can ask for. Say "I want my customers to log in and see their own orders" and it gets built the way any other app does, with your quick approve first, and the sign-in side is built along with the rest.

Everything your business can do stays closed to your customers until it is deliberately opened. For an app built for you, the parts your customers use are opened as it is built, and your approval of that build is the decision — nobody at ZenBusiness reviews it first. Opening up anything ZenBusiness built is different: that is a change ZenBusiness reviews, not a switch anyone flips mid-conversation. Customer sign-in itself is switched on one business at a time rather than for everyone at once — so ask where yours stands, and you'll be told straight.

The two articles that go into it: how your customers sign in and letting your customers use part of your business.

What it can do is a longer list

If you're checking whether something specific is possible, the fastest answer is to ask in chat. See what your co-founder can help with for the current picture — websites, payments, your business inbox, marketing email, getting found in search, and custom software for running the business.

How what comes next gets decided

By what founders actually get stuck on.

So when you want something that isn't possible yet, ask for it anyway. That's genuinely the most useful thing you can say — it goes back to the ZenBusiness team as a signal about what to build next, and the founders using the product are the ones setting the direction. You don't need a special form or a feature-request process; just say it in chat.

If you'd rather say it to a person, you can ask to be connected to the ZenBusiness team any time.
