Add-ons I offer, and saying no or stop
Some things I can do for your business cost extra money: for example, setting you up with your own web address. I call these add-ons. They are never part of your plan, and nothing is bought without you saying yes on a card that shows the price.
Add-ons are not available for every business yet. When one is available for yours, I'll ask you about it in chat, and it will also appear under "Waiting on you."
How I ask
I ask once, when it's most useful. For a web address, that's after your site is live. The question has three answers:
- Yes, set it up. I open a purchase card. Nothing is charged yet. For a web address, you pick the name first: say yes, then search for one in Settings → Domain, and the card opens there. See Buying a domain through me.
- Not now. Saying no is fine. I may check in again, at most three more times and never more than once a month.
- Stop asking. I stop for good. I won't bring it up again.
Skip does the same as Not now. Typing a reply under the question does not answer it, so a stray "ok" or "sure" can't start a purchase. Tap one of the three answers.
The purchase card
If you say yes, the card shows what you'd get, the price, how often it bills, and a link to the vendor's terms. Read them, then tick the box that says you accept them. Approve stays greyed out until the box is ticked. When you approve, we record the time you accepted the terms, along with the address and browser you used. We need that record to place your order.
Decline the card any time before you approve it, and nothing is bought.
Changing your mind
"Stop asking" is permanent for that add-on. If you change your mind later, contact a real person and they'll help.
You can't approve a purchase by typing "yes" in chat. The card is the one place that counts.
