Knowing what I'll do next

You can see what I'm working on right now and the work I plan to pick up after it. Look at the Progress panel — on a computer it's the column on the right; on a phone, tap the co-founder panel from the bottom bar.

What you'll see

The Progress panel has two halves that answer two different questions.

  • The checklist answers "where am I?" Each item shows whether it's finished, in progress, or still ahead. Tap any item to see the smaller pieces of work behind it.
  • "Here's what I'll do next" answers "and after that?" It's the ordered list of what I intend to pick up, closest first. The top item is marked Next.

When an item says "Waiting on you"

Sometimes I do real work on something and then hit a point only you can get past — sharing the contacts you'd like me to email, verifying your email address. When that happens I don't sit and wait: I move on to the next thing I can do, and the item I'm blocked on gets marked Waiting on you in the checklist. Connecting your payment account works the same way, except it shows on the Payments card in the co-founder panel instead of as Waiting on you.

So the checklist can honestly show two things at once: the one item I'm actively working, and any item that's finished as far as I can take it and is now sitting with you. Nothing marked that way has been dropped or forgotten — the exact thing I need is spelled out in the Waiting on you section at the top of the same panel, with a button to go do it.

It clears itself once I've seen you do it — you don't need to tell me.

It updates itself

The list is live. When I finish something, it drops off and the next item moves up — you don't need to refresh the page or ask me to check.

Why there are no dates on it

I've deliberately left dates and day counts off this list, because I'd rather give you no promise than a promise I break.

The order I work in depends on what's actually ready. If something you own has to happen first — connecting your payment account, verifying your email — I'll work around it and come back to it, which changes the timing but not the plan. And sometimes a step turns out to be unnecessary and I skip it entirely, which moves everything up.

So the list tells you the order truthfully. It doesn't tell you the calendar, because I genuinely don't know it.

The list only shows work I can actually do

Anything marked "Coming soon" in the checklist won't appear in "Here's what I'll do next" — I'm not going to promise you something I can't start yet. And once everything is finished, the list simply goes away rather than inventing more work.

After something finishes, I suggest the follow-through

When something real lands — your website goes live, your payment account finishes connecting, I've drafted the messages you asked for — the little suggestions above the message box change to match. Instead of a generic "what are you working on?", you'll see the questions that actually come next for that thing: "My site is live — what now?", "Who should I reach out to first?", "Show me the message you drafted."

They're still only suggestions, and ignoring them entirely is fine — the work carries on either way. Tapping one asks me that question straight away, the same as typing it yourself and hitting send, so it's a shortcut rather than a form to fill in. They're short-lived: they show up for about a day around the time I did the thing, then the suggestions go back to the general ones.

You can always just ask

The panel is the at-a-glance version. Ask me "what are you working on right now?" or "what's next?" in chat any time and I'll walk you through it in more detail — including why a particular thing is next.

It's in your evening summary too

On days I get real work done, the daily summary email closes with the same forward look — "Next I'll …" — so the plan reaches you even if you never open the app that day.
