How I help you find your first customer
Before your business has taken its first payment, my main job is helping you land that first customer. This is still rolling out, so you may not see it yet.
Picking how to look
I suggest three ways to find your first customer, best first, based on what you sell and who you sell to. For example:
- Referral partners. Other local businesses that already meet your customers and can send them to you. A radon tester might work with home inspectors and real estate agents.
- Google Business Profile. People searching for what you do nearby find you on the map.
- Posting in local groups. Neighbors ask each other for recommendations in community groups.
- People you already know. Your first customer is often someone a friend introduces.
You pick the one we work on first by tapping it. If you skip, I'll ask again in about a week. If your business isn't taking customers yet (say you're still on a waitlist), I won't push you toward a sale; I'll check back each week.
After you pick
Once you've picked, that's the approach we'll work on together. More of this is still rolling out: over time I'll help you turn the channel you picked into specific people and businesses to reach out to.
What I never do
I never message anyone on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or any other social network for you, and I don't collect people's details from them. When the channel is posting in groups, the posts go up from your own account, posted by you. I don't send cold emails to private individuals, and I don't buy ads to find your first customer.
