Drafting social posts with your co-founder
You can ask me to draft a social media post any time, or reply to one of my own suggestions — either way, you'll see a card in chat with what I've written before anything goes anywhere.
Social posting is turned on one business at a time. If you don't see Social in the menu, it isn't switched on for your business yet, and I'll let you know when it is.
Asking me to draft one
Just say something like:
- "Draft me a post about our new fall menu"
- "Write something for LinkedIn about the milestone we just hit"
- "Can you put together a post announcing this?"
I'll show you a short card in chat saying what I'd draft — for example, "I'll draft posts for LinkedIn and Facebook," with the angle and tone underneath. I pick the channels you haven't posted to in a while, an angle that fits your business, and a professional tone. The card gives you three choices:
- Draft it goes ahead with exactly what the card says.
- Change opens the details right there in the card: tap channels to add or remove them, and pick a different angle or tone. Choose Something else as the angle to describe your own idea in a few words. Channels you haven't posted to lately show how long it's been. Then tap Draft posts.
- Not now skips it. The card turns into a short "Skipped" note, stays that way if you come back later, and I don't draft anything.
How I pick the angle
I'm not choosing at random. Over your first month of posts I lead your audience step by step: first who you are and what you're building, then how you think, then progress you've made, and last one small ask. If your business already has a product or customers, I start from what exists and show real examples and proof instead. After that I mix it up: mostly posts that build trust, some that show proof, and now and then an ask. It moves on as you publish, not by the calendar, and I skip an angle you've skipped lately, and during that first month one you've just used. I only pre-select it. You can pick any angle, or write your own, on the card. If I've got your stage wrong, tell me and I'll change it.
Replying to my own suggestion
Every so often I'll offer to draft a post myself, after a milestone like your first payment or your site going live, or when it's been a while. It's just a message in chat. Reply "yes" and I'll draft with the channels, angle and tone I'd suggest, or tell me what you'd like instead. Or tap Draft a post about my website under "Try saying" on your dashboard.
What happens next
Once you confirm your channels, angle and tone, I first draft one core message — the idea I'd post, in plain words — and show it to you. Tell me to use it, or tell me what to change ("make it warmer", "mention our weekend markets") and I'll redraft it until it's right.
Want a specific picture? Just describe it when you ask, and the image card offers Make the image you described. I only make it when you press it.
Once you approve that message (and pick an image, for Facebook or Instagram), I adapt it for each channel you picked, each written to fit that platform. If one channel's draft doesn't come together, the others still show up.
To change the words, tone or image, and to post each one, see Editing and posting your social drafts.
Nothing is posted or sent without your say-so. Every card is a draft for you to look over, and even on a connected channel I publish only a post you've approved after seeing it.
Changing your mind
Skipped one and want posts after all? Just ask me to draft a post and I'll show you a fresh card. Want a different angle, a different tone, or different channels? Just ask again — "try that again but more casual" or "let's do Instagram instead" — and I'll redraft the core message first. Once you approve it, I'll adapt it for each channel again.
