Browsing the help center

Everything I know how to explain, I've also written down. You can read it yourself, any time, without asking me first — and without signing in.

Four ways in

Ask me in chat. This is still the fastest route for anything about your business, because I can look at your actual site, your actual payments, your actual inbox. A guide can only tell you how something works in general; I can tell you what yours is doing right now.

Open your account menu in the top right. The circular initial sits next to Apps. It has About, FAQ, and Help Center. Help Center takes you straight to the guides from wherever you're working — no need to remember a URL or leave the app to look it up.

Browse the help center. Every guide is listed on one page, grouped so you can see what's covered at a glance. Useful when you don't have a specific question yet and want to know what's possible — or when you'd rather read than ask. Two of the groups there are the same pages you can open inside the app: About, on why I exist and what I hold to, and Frequently asked questions, including what this costs and what I can't do yet. They read the same either way, and you don't have to be signed in to read them.

Search it. There's a search box on the help center. Type what you're actually trying to do, in your own words: "customer's card was declined," "connect a domain I already own," "stop the evening email." The search looks at what the guides mean, not just the exact words you typed, so you don't have to guess my vocabulary.

When search comes up empty

It'll say so. If I don't have a guide covering what you asked, the results page tells you plainly rather than showing you three nearly-related articles and hoping one sticks.

That's deliberate. A wrong-but-confident answer costs you more time than no answer, because you have to discover it was wrong. If search comes up empty, ask me in chat — I can usually help even when there's no written guide, and it tells me a guide is missing.

If you search a lot at once

The search box has a cap on how many searches it will run in a short window. You will almost certainly never hit it by reading normally. If you do — you're comparing a lot of guides quickly, say — it'll ask you to wait a few seconds and tell you how many.

Chat has no such limit, so if you're in a hurry, just ask me instead.

Reading on your phone

The help center works the same on a phone as on a laptop, and it follows whatever light or dark setting your device is already using. Nothing to configure.

The guides change

When I ship something new, or something changes about how a feature works, the matching guide gets updated. You don't need to reload anything or clear a cache — you'll see the current version next time you open it.

If you read something in a guide that doesn't match what you're seeing in your own account, tell me in chat. That gap is worth knowing about, and it's usually either something I can explain in a sentence or a guide that needs fixing.
